The Revolver Optic Conversion (R.O.C.) allows for the process of modifying a revolver to accept a red dot sight (RDS). Traditionally, revolvers have been equipped with iron sights, but the trend in recent years is to adapt them to modern sighting systems, such as red dot optics, to improve accuracy, speed of target acquisition, and overall performance.

        R.O.C. Features:

• The R.O.C. is compatible with Smith & Wesson® models 442, 642, 432, 43C, 351C.
   
  

        Mounting the Optic:

• The R.O.C. allows for the mounting of a red dot sight on a revolver.
• Revolvers are not designed to have a flat mounting surface like semi-automatic pistols, which is why the R.O.C. is the perfect choice.
• Shield Arms has manufactured the R.O.C. that provides an optic mount specifically Smith & Wesson® models 442, 642, 432, 43C, 351C. This allows the user to attach a red dot sight to the frame without needing to mill the gun itself.

        Choosing the R.O.C. model:

• The red dot sight or optics choice is important. The optic should be lightweight and rugged, given the heavy recoil often associated with revolvers.
• Two models of the R.O.C. are available:
• • RMRcc (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) Footprint:
  • • The RMR footprint is one of the most popular footprints used for mounting red dots. 
  • RMSc (Ruggedized Miniature Sight Compact) Footprint:
  • • The RMSc footprint is a compact scope specially designed for compact pistols, with features including a smaller size and a simpler mounting base.

WARNING: The use of .357 Magnum ammunition is not advised due to the overwhelming force exerted from the handgun onto the optics plate. Using .357 Magnum ammunition may result in damage or injury which will not be covered by Shield Arms' warranty.
