Export Control Overview

Many Shield Arms products are regulated by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and require either Department of Commerce approval or US Department of State approval and an export license to legally ship outside of the United States of America.

Regulated Products

The following Shield Arms products may be subject to export controls:

  • Firearms and firearm components
  • Magazines and magazine components
  • Gun parts and accessories
  • Technical data and specifications
  • Manufacturing equipment and tooling

Customer Export Compliance Requirements

Legal Agreement

By purchasing Shield Arms products, you expressly agree to comply with all U.S. export control laws and regulations, including:

  • Export Administration Regulations (EAR) - Implemented by the Department of Commerce
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) - Implemented by the Department of State
  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Regulations - Implemented by the Treasury Department

Prohibited Export Activities

Without proper export licenses, you may NOT:

  • Export any Shield Arms products outside the United States
  • Sell or transfer products to persons intending to export them
  • Rent or deliver products for international shipment
  • Dispose of products to known exporters without authorization
  • Share technical data with foreign nationals

International Sales & Distribution

Authorized International Distributors

Shield Arms has established authorized distribution networks in many foreign countries through our licensed export partners. These distributors are properly licensed and authorized to sell Shield Arms products in their respective regions.

Export License Requirements

When Export Licenses Are Required

Export licenses from the US Department of State or Department of Commerce are required for:

  • Direct shipment of products outside the US
  • Transfer of technical data to foreign persons
  • Temporary export for demonstrations or repairs
  • Re-export of Shield Arms products from third countries

License Application Process

Export license applications must be submitted by qualified entities to the appropriate US government agency. Shield Arms cannot assist with individual export license applications.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers purchasing Shield Arms products agree to:

  • Verify export eligibility before any international transfer
  • Obtain required licenses from appropriate government agencies
  • Maintain compliance records as required by law
  • Report violations to appropriate authorities
  • Cooperate with investigations if requested

Shield Arms Responsibilities

Shield Arms maintains compliance by:

  • Screening all orders against restricted party lists
  • Maintaining export licenses for authorized international sales
  • Training personnel on export control requirements
  • Working with authorized distributors only
  • Reporting compliance issues to government agencies

Restricted Countries & Entities

Embargoed Countries

Shield Arms products cannot be exported to countries under US embargo or trade restrictions. This includes countries listed by:

  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
  • Department of State Country Policies
  • Department of Commerce Entity Lists

Restricted Parties

We screen all customers against government-maintained lists of restricted parties, including:

  • Denied Persons List
  • Entity List
  • Specially Designated Nationals List
  • Debarred Parties List
