FLR
Patented Folding Lower Receivers
The Fold Is Built In. Not Bolted On.
Most folding ARs add a hinge adapter behind the receiver. The Shield Arms FLR has the folding mechanism machined into the lower itself, from 7075-T6 billet in Bigfork, Montana.
Every FLR ships to your FFL. How that works.
US Patent Protected Fold Machined Into the Receiver No Adapter 7075-T6 Billet Lifetime Warranty Made in Bigfork, MT
Built Into the Receiver, Not Onto It
The Fold Is the Receiver
The folding mechanism is machined into the lower. There's no hinge adapter between the receiver and the buffer tube.
Three Ways to Own It
Stripped, as a complete lower, or as a finished SA-15 or SA-9. Every version carries the same mechanism.
7075-T6 Billet
Machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum in our own shop in Bigfork, Montana.
Covered for Life
A lifetime warranty against defects on stripped lowers, complete lowers and complete builds.
Most folding ARs bolt a hinge on behind the receiver. Ours is machined into it.
US patent protected, made in Bigfork, Montana, and built on two platforms: the SA-15 in 5.56 and 300 BLK, and the SA-9 in 9mm.
Every FLR Ships to Your FFL
The lower receiver is the serialized part of the firearm. Stripped lowers, complete lowers and complete SA-15 and SA-9 builds all ship to a licensed dealer (FFL) of your choice, where you complete the transfer like any firearm purchase.
What Is a Folding Lower Receiver?
A folding lower receiver is an AR lower with the folding mechanism built into the receiver, so the firearm folds without a separate hinge adapter. The Shield Arms FLR is US patent protected and machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum in Bigfork, Montana.
- SA-15: AR-15 pattern. Complete builds in 5.56 NATO and 300 BLK.
- SA-9: 9mm pistol-caliber platform.
- Three configurations: stripped lower, complete lower with the parts kit installed, or a complete SA-15 or SA-9.
- Every FLR ships to your FFL and is backed by a lifetime warranty.
Folding Lower FAQ
How is the FLR different from a folding stock adapter?
An adapter adds a hinge between the receiver and the buffer tube. On the FLR the folding mechanism is part of the receiver, so there's no adapter to buy, install or stack onto the build.
Can I build it with my own parts?
Yes. The Stripped FLR takes the upper, trigger and furniture you already trust. The Complete FLR Lower arrives with the parts kit installed, ready to mate to your upper.
Do I need an FFL?
Yes. The lower is the serialized firearm, so every FLR, stripped or complete, ships to a licensed dealer for transfer. See shipping details.
What does the lifetime warranty cover?
Defects in materials and workmanship, for as long as you own it. Stripped lowers, complete lowers and complete builds are all covered. See the warranty.
